Centre Where Adolescents Learn to Love and Serve ( CALLS) celebrates 20years
CALLS announces one week program of activities in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
Portsmouth Dominica, October 9, 2014: CALLS , Centre Where Adolescents Learn to Love and Serve located in Portsmouth, announces the celebration of its 20th anniversary of operations. CALLS is a registered non-government organization and a registered not-for-profit organization in Dominica opened on April 19 1995. The Institution has since graduated 377 young persons from the two year program which teaches life skills and prepares young adults for the world of work. (A second chance institution)
CALLS operates an Early Childhood Development Centre, a Craft and Woodworking Outlet, a Laundry, a Cosmetology service and a farm at the One Mile Agricultural Station. Providing skills training opportunities for the young persons. The institution now offers Caribbean Certificate of Secondary School Learning (CCSLC) courses in English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, French and Social Studies and expects by 2015 to offer Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) courses.
The one week program of activities in celebration of the 20 year milestone will start on 13 October 2014 with an Official Opening Ceremony and launch of a commemorative 20th Anniversary Magazine, continue on 16 October from 9am with a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated by, Most Reverend Gabriel Malzaire as Presider and Homilist, and close on 17 October with an Alumni day and Closing ceremony starting from 9:30 am.
CALLS invites all media houses and the general public to celebrate with the institution and its alumni on what is a momentous occasion for the alumni and institution.
